What Causes Radiating Pain From The Hip To The Lower Back?

For two years I have had pain that started on the tip of my right hip. Sometimes the pain radiates to my navel and to my lower back. It feels like I am carrying a heavy sac of gel on my lower right side, below and to the left of the hip. It hurts to walk, sleep on my side, and bend over. I have had CT scans, an MRI, ultrasound, and blood work done. Yesterday my doctor said the most recent CT scan showed a cyst on my liver. I do not know how large the cyst is. In 2000 I had an endometrial ablation. In 2016 I had a hysterectomy. The ovaries were not removed, but two benign tumors were removed from the uterus. If you can figure out what this ailment is, you get the prize. No one else has been of much help.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it will be a neuropathic pain.

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
