What Causes Radiating Pain From The Neck To The Right Arm?

I awoke with a pain radiating from my neck down my right arm, unable to lift or lower the limb without pain. Gravity oulling down is especially painful. However, I inadvertantly touched the right inner notch in my neck and it is exceptionally tender wheereas it is not so on the left. Could there be some connection my emai l is YYYY@YYYY
