What Causes Raised Bump After A Mosquito Byte?

About a year in a half ago my son was bitten by mesqeitoes all over. I then noticed a little bump on the left side of his neck. I took him to the dr. and he said it was his lymph node enlarged due to bug bites. I ve had him back almost a year later because it was still there. It s about the size of a pea. the doctor didn t seemed worried but it is still there and it has been almost two years now. It dosen t seem to bother him.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The raised bump after a mosquito bump is a normal reaction of the skin. I recommend using an antihistamine such as Cetirizine 10 mg to relieve the itching. I also suggest using a steroid cream for local application.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
