What Causes Raised Itchy Rashes On Body While Having Cough And Sore Throat?

A friend of mine who is 80 has developed a raised itchy rash (like small hives). He had been sick with a bronchial cough & sore throat. His physician put him on amoxacilin & he has had 2 rounds of that. He went to his Dr today & he put him on the reduction dosage of prednisone, & said he should dee a dermatologist; however, no one has called to set up an appt. He hasn t started to take the prednisone yet because he is now nauseated & has dry heaves. I took his temp & it is 98.1 but he is shaking off & on.

Hello dear
Understand your concern
I think you are suffering from streptococcal sore throat and fever that cause rashes.
Or it may be a side effects of steroids.
It will goes of as disease is cured.
Just apply candid powder and avoid sweating in rashes area
If itching is present : apply hydrocortisone plus anti histaminics lotion
Keep the area clean and dry.
Continue treatment for sore throat and take following advice:


Tablet Dan-P
Drink plenty of warm water
Use humidifier
Gargling with warm salted water
Tablet strepsils
Do betadine gargle 3-4 time/day.
Complete rest
complete the full treatment
