What Causes Random Bruising On The Legs While On Metoprolol?

Hello - I had stints put in for my legs and was started on Metoprolol TAR 25 mg twice a day. Since I started taking it, I am continue to find bruises for no reason - never bruised before. Then if I scratch something, I will start bleeding more than I should. I also had a broken blood vessel in my hand last week - it numbed my finger and when I looked,my knuckle area was bruised and turned my hand over and had a small round bruise on the palm just below my finger. Yesterday, I felt like I had a piece of lint in my eye and rubbed it a lot. I got up at 4 am to go to the restroom and my eye had a large broken blood vessel that was covering almost half the white of my eye - since is clearing. Any thoughts?

Hello,

Usually, Metoprolol may not cause a rash unless you're allergic to it.

Possible that you may develop allergy or thrombocytopenia or clotting factor abnormalities.

Get it done platelet count, clotting profile.

Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you with alternative medicine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
