What Causes Rapid Heart Rate After Taking Synthroid?
Hi I m 54 years old and have taken synthroid for years. My Dr lowered the dose 3 mounts ago. Since then I have been tired my heart races when I climb steps and I have gained weight. She had me do another blood test and they called because my numbers were elevated. She wants me to come back in. What do high numbers mean? Hyper or hypo?

Suggestive of hypothyroidism. Based on the history you seem to be suffering from hypothyroidism apparently due to inadequate dose of synthroid. A dose increment of synthroid is recommended based on the results of the latest thyroid function tests.
