What Causes Rapid Heart Rate Along With Severe Heart Burn?

I occasionally experience a rapid heartrate usually accompanied with heartburn or upper GI gas. I never measured my heart rate during these episodes but today I decided to check my BP during an episode. BP was 116/98 (30 minutes later it was 123/67). the alarming thing was that my heartrate was 187 (30 minutes later heart rate was 96). I have had two episodes in the last 4 days. I am generally I good health (though currently 15 to 20 lbs over weight at 6 ft 220 lbs). I have had these episode occasionally in the past. How concerned should I be about this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think this can be simply related to stress and anxiety. I think you can use a atenolol before bed. Use plant based sleeping meds.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
