What Causes Rapid Heart Rate And Breathing Difficulty?

So this has been going on for about 4 years now. Every once in awhile my heart will beat extremely fast for about a minute to 3 minutes sometimes to the point where it s hard to breath and then just stops and slows down. I don t know if I should be worried or not.

As per your query you have rapid heart rate and breathing difficulty . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like panic attack , side effect of medicine high blood pressure , drinking too much alcohol , drinking too many caffeinated beverages , imbalance of electrolytes and more serious problems like damage to heart tissues from heart disease , abnormal electrical pathways in the heart and arrhythmia . would suggest you to consult cardiologist without any delay . Doctor may order ECG , TMT ,complete blood profile and chest x-ray . Doctor may prescribe anti-arrhythmic medication (Rythmol) , doctor may go for pacemaker or surgery . For now take proper rest and try to make yourself stress free .
