Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I would like to tell you that rapid heart rate can be because of low blood pressure which is common in the elderly or it can be due to underlying heart disease as well.

Kindly get your blood pressure checked regularly and get an ECG and Echocardiography done to rule out any cardiac disease.

I hope this information will answer your query.

Kind Regards
Dr. Bhanu Partap
