Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a heart rate question. I am 43 y/o black male. Been in the military for 20 years doing various levels of exercise over the years. My heart rate (monitoring it over the last 1 1/2 yrs) is always around 178 when doing cardio or other exercises. Is that just normal for me?
Being an ex-military officer due to your high activity levels during your service period your heart should have been adapted to high activity levels therefore staying at a lower heart rate, but if its staying that high then you should get your cardiac evaluation done by personally consulting a cardiologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Bhanu Partap
