What Causes Rapid Heart Rate?

Recently I have woken up sweating with what seems like a bit of a rapid heart rate. It goes away after a few mins. and I can get back to sleep. Went to primary Dr. had an EKG and she said my heart sounded normal and healthy. EKG came back normal. Any suggestions on what this could be?
