What Causes Rapid Heartbeat Along With Dizziness And Burping?

Having what I believe is tachycardia (sp?) i.e., rapid heartbeat, accompanied by lightheaded ness and burping. Has followed just regular activity--such as walking. Have had this happen for short periods most days the last 4 days. Why all of a sudden. Jam male 59 yo and in fairly good shape, resting heartbeat is 58-60 and blood pressure is a tad low to average.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are suffering from rapid heart beat and blood pressure is low to average. You are also experiencing dizziness and burping. Your symptoms may be indicative of anxiety disorder, panic attacks, dehydration, heart rhythm disturbances, acid reflux, GERD, developing CAD, coronary artery disease, etc. The symptoms of a heart attack can include pain in the left arm or shoulder, symptoms of angina. The chest pain may be related to a heart attack.

Patients with angina have a higher risk of having a coronary bypass surgery. Excessive burping can also be caused by gastroesophageal reflux disease or acid reflux. However, it may be indicative of heart ailment. Dizziness can occur due to dehydration, low blood pressure, low blood glucose level, syncope, stroke or cardiac problem, etc. Tachycardia can cause AF, atrial fibrillation, you are suggested to get clinically examined by a Cardiologist.

Get all lipid function tests, stress test, EKG, Echo, blood works and required imaging tests done to assess any developing cardiac problem. You will be treated accordingly. Stay away from addictions if any and avoid trans fat, full fat dairy products, . red meat, oily or fatty food. Do regular walking after you recover from dizziness. Get treated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
