What Causes Rapid Weight Gain And Swelling In The Legs?

I am concerned with my rapid weight gain, I gained almost 20 lbs since March, even though I don t eat too badly and exercise. Also, my legs swell from the morning to the evening much more than usual. What could be the reason and what doctor specialist should I seek?

There are many causes of weight gain such as increased food consumption without increasing physical activity, high junk food, Cushing’s syndrome, and hypothyroidism.
Advice
1.     Keep your feet elevated while sleeping
2.     Check your blood pressure
3.     Avoid eating high energy foods such as cakes, chocolates, chips etc.
4.     Avoid alcohol and smoking
5.     Increase consumption of high fiber diet such as wheat bread, dry date, and vegetables
6.     Drink 3 – 4 liters of water daily
7.     Chew the food properly to make it easily digestible
8.     Avoid excess intake tea and coffee after meal
9.     Divide your meals into smaller portions and eat them frequently during the day
10.     Avoid oily & spicy food
11.     Investigation
a.     Fasting lipid profile
b.     Serum TSH & T4
c.     Hemoglobin%
d.     Serum creatinine
e.     Blood sugar (F & PP)
