What Causes Rash On Base Of Penis?
Recently I developed a rash at the base of my penis, I assumed it was jock itch as it s been hot and I ve been sweaty. I began applying lotrimin cream and made sure to keep it well dry. I just today noticed that on the glass on my penis, the head not the rim, is slightly red and when I m erect a somewhat uniform and lumpy texture can be seen. The bumps don t hurt, itch, secrete anything, aren t discolored, and look as if they are under the skin. Any ideas?

It is commonly caused by Contact dermatitis, Yeast infection, scabies or STD. Get physically examined. Get STD tests done to rule out any sexually transmitted disease. You will need antibiotics or antivirals depending upon the severity of the rash. Avoid harsh chemical soaps & detergents & spermicide. Avoid multiple partners, go for protected sex, take care of your hygiene.
In the meantime apply hydrocortisone cream in the affected area. Avoid sex for a couple of days while you get treated. Do not share your personal belongings or toiletries.
