Hi,
It is not any rare condition nor it is any harmful disease that you are suffering from. It is only a kind of
hypersensitivity. IgE is nothing but the antibody that is mainly responsible for the
allergy. Most important thing is to trace the allergen and prevention of exposure to it. In your case, the following might be the possible triggers of allergy:
1) As your treating physician mentioned, foods like some
protein supplements, newly added to your diet or a new coffee or tea brand and so on.
2) Insect allergies might be another probable cause. Insects need not necessarily bite but their mere presence on the skin for a particular period (like during sleep) of time would cause a
rash. The most important thing is the treatment part. These are some of the highlights of management:
1) Offending allergen to be avoided if known
2) Tab.
cetirizine is recommended. IgE mediated hypersensitivity is only transient though it may relapse. This may be irritating but not dangerous. So please stop worrying and start observing the above suggestions.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
