Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Rashes And Itching After A Knee Replacement Surgery?
I have general itching all over my body with some areas developing a rash. I was taking hydrocodone 2 months before a partial knee replacement surgery and this itching started. After surgery they put me on oxycodone and the symptoms got worse. A week ago they switched me to tramadol but I am still itching.
Your reaction does seem vague and unlikely, but if you are still experiencing the itching and are not on any other medication despite being shifted over the tramadol then yours could either be an issue with the liver or a psychological issue requiring conseling. Please do not get me wrong, such major surgery can cause chemical imbalances that may require attention and so in order to help yourself please do discuss these possibilities with your doctor.
Best wishes.
