What Causes Rashes Around The Waist, Neck And Shoulders?
My daughter, age 26, has LOTS of welts around her waist line, neck, down both shoulders and shoulder blades. There is no evidence of a red dot indicating a bite. The welts are not red but are her normal skin color......other than nail marks where she is scratching. The bumps are spreading and connecting together to the size of a 50 cent piece. She had an injection at the Urgent care on Friday for an anti-inflammatory for a possible torn ACL but the itching didn t start until late yesterday. Could this be an allergic reaction to a medicine?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of rashes around the waist, neck and shoulders which is very common and could be due to allergic reaction or side effects of certain medicine.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to keep this area clean and dry and apply cream containing azelaic acid. You should apply warm compresses with soaked towel and apply vitamin C serum at night. You should avoid touching or pricking rashes. If condition doesn't get better then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor will examine physically along with blood test and sample for lab test . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants , antibiotics like clindamycin , anti inflammatory medications.
