What Causes Rashes On The Back After Recovering From Meningitis?
My husband came home today after 2mos. In the hosp./nursing home for meningitis (bacterial) . He also had to have surgery on his spine to clean out the infection. Now I think he has shingles. He has a blistering rash on his left side that starts in front and goes all the way to his mid back. Is there anything I can do for him until I can speak with the doctor on mon? Or should I try to reach him sooner? Thanks for your time. Mary
Hi Thanks for posting your query on HCM. I have read and understood your concern.Sorry to hear what your husband is going through. From your description of the rashes, i feel he has shingles. It most often appears as a single stripe of blisters that wraps around either the left or the right side of your body but not on both sides.Treatment is very effective with anti-viral drugs like aciclovir( tablet and cream).I will suggest you get to the Doctor as soon as possible for prescription.Delay in treatment may only make the rashes to be more extensive. Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns. Best regards
