What Causes Rashes On The Body Despite Using Steroid Creams And Calamine?

I have this rash that surfaces on different parts of my body. I was at the dermo last week and she said she thought it was exzcema, but wasn t sure and gave me a steroid ointment, Floucinonide. It seems to work on the old rash, but I keep getting new ones, especially at night and wherever I scratch, they get raised. I m trying to get back to the dermo asap, but what can I do in the meantime to stop the itching. Calamine lotion doesn t work, it makes mit worse.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Seems to be a viral infection of the dermis and that is the reason why calamine lotion is not effective ( it should be discontinued).

* Requires prescription of necessary antiviral, antibiotics medications for best recovery.

* Till the time being approach with the intake of cetirizine, diphenhydramine or else antihistamine will relieve the itching for particular duration of the period.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
