I had cataract surgery in each eye one week apart. After first surgery i broke out with a horrible skin rash on my chest breasts shoulder and left elbow crease. This happened the next day, then notice on the side of my face, blotches on my tummy and hive like welts on neck. I saw the eye surgeon next day for checkup. Eye was fine but rash was terribly itchy. Dr gave me Prednisone which lightened up the redness a bit. However the next week's surgery made it worse again and appeared on my inner thighs. I do have skin contact allergies to late, formaldehyde resin and thiurim mix. Mediation allergy to sulfa drugs.
The rash cleared up about 2-3 weeks after second surgery, and I took antihistamine to help relieve the itch.
