What Causes Rashes On The Chest And Back While On Metoprolol And Lisinopril?

I have a rash. Chest and back. It does not hurt but sort of tingly. The rash is like little bumps all of back through chest. Started 2 days and have a hard cold for 5 days. Meds are metoprolol, lisinopril, crestor, Xarelto, aspirin (small). For 3 days I bought nighttime severe and flu and daytime for same. Has acetamino, dextro, guaifenesin, phenylephrine. Would the rash from the nighttime daytime medicine with my meds? Thank you. Rodney

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of rashes on the chest and back while on Metoprolol and Lisinopril. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like contact dermatitis , eczema , dry skin , eczema and erythema nodosum. But in your case the symptoms are probably occurring due to side effects od medicine you are taking . I would suggest you to apply cold compresses on rashes , avoid applying any cosmetic product except petroleum jelly , take over the counter antihistamine like benadryl and drink plenty of water. If condition doesn't get well the consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may order test like blood test, allergy test and skin patch test to confirm the diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with corticosteroid ointment or antibiotics like clindamycin .
