Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 18 y/o g.son has had a rash/breaking out on his front torso and his back since early June. It does not look like the typical pimples, etc. that teens get. There is no itching, burning, etc. but all efforts to clear it up have not worked. He has been under a lot of stress the past few months and I m wondering if this could possibly be the cause of the problem. Any suggestions?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of rashes on the torso which seems to be due to contact dermatitis and allergic reaction due to detergent, soap, fragrance.
Need not to worry. Avoid touching or pricking these red rashes. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antihistamine , corticosteroid ointment and immunosuppressants, anti inflammatory medications. For now take benadryl twice a day and apply cold compresses. Avoid direct sun exposure and avoid any cosmetic product .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
