What Causes Rashes That Look Like Ringworm With Dry Skin?

Hi I have been getting these rashes that look like ringworm for about a year now... The only thing is, the rashes do not itch at all, and they start out as circles but then grow to large half cirles with dryskin and a clear middle... Any idea what this could be?

Hi
See the lesions that you are developing are basically a type of annular skin reaction.
Such lesions can develop in various skin conditions and ringworm infection is just one ok them.
Now since these lesions are non itchy in nature, we have various skin diseases which can lead to this presentation. Among some common causes one needs to rule out granuloma annulare and eac.
I would advise you to see a nearby dermatologist soon who can assess the skin condition and thereby take a skin biopsy if required.

Hi,

I can understand your concern for rashes that look like ringworm with dry skin. In your query you have not mentioned the age, sex and other relevant details of your sister so that the exact cause could be found out.

There can be multiple possibilities of the blisters in your condition. It can be a part of simple fungal proliferation or may be part of dry skin.

A detailed history with proper work up is required to reach to the exact diagnosis. You should meet dermatologist at the earliest so that exact diagnosis can be made.

Do not try to pinch or pop the blister as can get secondarily infected and further complications.

You can apply clotrimazole cream or terbinafine cream and take fluconazole alternate day. If the rash disappears then is fungal infection.

Hope these information will relax you.

Take care.
