What Causes Raspy Voice After Exposure To Bleach Solution?
I had a water/bleach solution in a bucket in the bathroom. My 3 year old went to the bathroom and when done, he picked up a shell that was in the bleach solution. He put them down immediately and I washed his hands. He was unhappy with me and started to cry saying his nose hurt. He blew his nose and said it didn t hurt anymore. He is sleeping, but his breathing is maybe a little louder than normal and seems raspy a bit at the end of each breath. I put vicks on my chest and am next to him. Looking for reassuracne that he will be okay before I go to sleep.
The raspy voice after exposure to bleach solution is the immediate effect of the solution over upper respiratory tract mucosa causing cellular swelling and inflammation.
There will be a better help with fresh air, deep breathing exercises, avoidance of further exposure, gargles with salted lukewarm water.
In case of any doubt, rush to ER without delay.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
