What Causes Rectal Bleeding And Swelling Post Colonoscopy?

Hello. I am a 31 year old female. I was born premature, and have had stomach complications throughout my life. I had a colonoscopy last December because of rectal bleeding and swelling I then believed to be hemorrhoids. Nothing was found by doctors, and the "minor" swelling pictured during the scope was said to have been from the procedure. The rectal swelling has worsened and is causing further swelling of my abdomen. My food is currently sitting in my esophagus too long after eating. I am having difficulties having full bowel movements because of the rectal constriction. (While inserting prescribed suppositories I feel a significant difference in space; or lack there of.) The swelling is worsening, and has been dismissed by my stomach doctor (of 15 years). Please help.

Hello Welcome to Health care Magic
I have gone through your query & can understand your concern

Rectal bleeding is a common symptom. Colonoscopy is done to rule out possibility of colon cancer. As your colonoscopy has been done & nothing was found, It means you must be suffering from minor haemorrhoids or anal fissure.
Most common cause of haemorrhoids & fissures is constipation, hard stool passage, excessive straining during defecation, etc. Fibres in diet should be increased, alternatively lactofiber can be used it contains natural isphagula husk. Laxatives such as duphalac or softovac can also be used.

If problem persists, you should visit a Gastroenterologist.
Don't worry you would be fine
Hoping your query is solved
