What Causes Rectal Pain After Taking Metamucil For Constipation?
Good morning Doctor, my son is 16 years of age, for the past couple of days he claims that he has a rectal pain, he feels like he wants to go to the bathroom but he can t go. We went to our regular doctor few days ago because he was constipated , and the doctor told him to get the Metamucil , which we did, but now this is happening .What can I do at this point?

He may have a fecal impaction and at the least he needs a rectal exam and x-rays of his abdomen.
