What Causes Rectal Pain During Bowel Movement In Spite Of Taking Advil?
Hello. I have had rectal pain with sitting and bowel movements for about 5 days Only on rt side No bleeding. Looks like a very small External hemmoriod. The pain eases up when I stand. I have been taking 400 mg of advil to help with pain. Sitz bath not help. Pain is on the right side of my butt (inside) and tends to travel toeard my groin area or feels that way. I read internal hemmoroids do not hurt. Tender to touch the small external hemmoriod. Swollen. Could this be more than a hemorriod
General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to haemorrhoid. The haemorrhoid could have thrombosed or infected. That can give pain and irritation which can radiate to groin and buttock. It is better to get a digital examination by General surgeon or Proctologist to rule out and to manage this. You may need antibiotics in case of infection. Over the counter haemorrhoid creams like Proctosedyl will be helpful to relieve the pain and inflammation. Stool softeners like lactulose or sorbitol once or twice daily also helps. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
