What Causes Recurrent UTI Symptoms Despite Taking Phenazopyridine And Cephalexin?

I currently have a UTI that was diagnosed by taken a urine sample on Saturday. I have been taking an antibiotic, Caphalexin 500 mg since then and using Phenazopyridine 100 mg for pain. My symptoms improved on Sunday, but today (Monday) they are back again. I have a call in to my Doctor and am waiting for a response.

Hello,

I think you should consider doing a urine culture to determine the bacteria which is causing the problem. The antibiotic should be chosen according to antibiogram.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
