What Causes Recurrent Bronchitis And Cough?

Yes, thank you. I have recurrent Bronchitis and have a very persistent cough. About 10 yrs ago I had gall bladder surgery & partial gastrectomy. This cough is so bad it feels like I did after I had my surgery. The old incision sites are tender & painful when I cough. Should I be concerned? I have had Bronchitis before, but never this much discomfort in that region. Lp

General & Family Physician 's  Response
As you mentioned u have recurrent bronchitis and persistent cough, there is always use of chest and abdominal muscles during coughing. continuous strain of the muscles does cause pain. talking about the surgery u had before, there is a slight possibily of simple adhesions n scar tissues inside which usually form insignificant contractures inside. so the reason of pain and tenderness. usually not required to worry about since its been long time after surgery. needs only prompt treatment of ur bronchitis.
