Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 15 year old son is experiencing chest pains once a day. They are short lived and he does not get pale or short of breath. He had a full spinal fusion last December. We are wondering if this could be related to the surgery, growing pains, or something more serious. He has a checkup scheduled Dec 13 and I have a call into his doctor tight now. Your thoughts....
Chest pain after having full spinal fusion surgery may or may not be related. The exact site of pain is essential to know the probable cause of chest pain.
Chest pain can occur due to diseases of the respiratory system, cardiac system or muscular. Chest pain associated with muscular causes usually increase and decrease along with body movement.
A clinical assessment and X-ray chest will be required to find out the exact cause. Kindly, consult a pulmonologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shailja Puri , Pathologist and Microbiologist
