What Causes Recurrent Cold, Cough And Chest Congestion?

3 year old, currently on budecort inhaler twice a day, for recurrent cold, cough and chest congestion. Another doctor suggested to replace budecort with montair-lc once a day, and then gradually stop budecort. Which is safer- budecort or montair-lc? thanks.

Hi.
Noted the history of recurrent cold, cough and chest congestion.

The commonest reasons are :
- Allergy to particular allergens. You are the one to find as this is always subjective and your observations alone can detect these.
Avoiding these allergens is the most important part of treatment.
- Both Budecort and Montair-LC are safe .
Action of both are totally different and hence you have to continue both.
Budecort is a topical steroid in a very minute quantity is required, which is not detrimental to the body.
Montair LC is a decongestant and should help perfectly well.

So do not worry.
Continue both.
