What Causes Recurrent Cough And Cold In A Toddler?

My son is 3 years old and stays sick all the time here recently more then anything with barking cough and runny nose (green) all the time. This past time we visited the Dr and he was put on 14 days of Augmentin and still no better. I was able to talk to the Dr and she agrees he is staying sick all the time has just referred me out to a ENT to have his Tonsils and Adenoids checked. My question is what does your Tonsils and Adenoids have to do with him constantly staying sick all time.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Consult a pediatrician and get evaluated.

Probably it will be a minor respiratory tract infection.

Probably symptoms will settle with a short course of antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
