What Causes Recurrent Fever Despite Taking Motrin?
I returned from Italy Saturday evening with a continued fever from Friday evening, I been suppressing with Motrin but continue waking up to any where from 101.7- 102.2deg. fever. My normal temp is 97.3, what should I do I was needing to be at work today. Please advise.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of recurrent fever despite taking Motrin which seems to be due to viral infection of body. Other possible chances are electrolyte imbalance of body, poor immunity of body and increased susceptibility of getting infected due to low immunity .
Visit general practitioner once and get it examined and start treatment after thorough examination. You should get blood tests done and start treatment after proper prescription.
- You should take proper course of antiviral medication such Acyclovir. - Drinking plenty of fluids to rehydrate body and taking rest will be helpful. - You should take paracetamol every 6 hourly. - You should do tepid sponging if fever increases.
