What Causes Recurrent Fever In A Child?

Good Morning Dr. My son is 6 yrs old and having frequent fever , Dr has prescribed below mention medicine- 1- Kalpal-250 2-AUGMENTIN DDS 5.4/30 ML. We continued for 6 to 7 days but fever is still coming every after 6 hours . Now vsited another De he prescribes - RIUFOL ( DRY SYRUP) OFM MEFTAL SP Starting from 10/03/2018 meanwhile his blood count become Lucyusite 20000 a place of 12000 and hemo 8.2 what to do now.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.


The associated complaint with fever need to be ruled out like sore throat, chest pain, burning micturition etc. Total count 20000 definitely suggesting acute infective condition. If oral medication can't control infection than intravenous antibiotic might needed. Provide me reports for giving more comment. Sometime autoimmune condition can lead high count with low HB and low platelet. So any autoimmune disorder if suspected should be ruled out. Blood culture study will be beneficial in rule out causative organism.
