What Causes Recurrent Fever Inspite Of Giving Combiflam To Child?
My daughter aged 2 yrs 9 months weighing 10.5 Kgs, developed sudden fever yesterday night since 0100 hrs. She was perfectly normal and active till 2300 hrs, before sleep. Fever was 103 and rushed to medical centre, since we are living in malaria prone area(falcifarum ), ICT was carried out by med attendant, it was negative for malaria. He has given around 12 ml of combiflame syrup and some sponging was done and send back us home. Her temperature was gradually decreased and 99.3 at around 0230 hrs, 98.3 at 0530 hrs(but body was hit), again it was 100.2 at around 0730 hrs.( she was complaing stomach pain and vomiting sentation in d morning. Please advice
The fact that she is now complaining of vomiting and abdominal pain may signal that she can have gastroenteritis due to one of the common viral infections or it may indicate a more serious infection eg appendix etc (depending on the site of the pain)
It would be best to take her to her doctor for assessment.
Once the cause has been determined then treatment can be started.
I hope this helps
