What Causes Recurrent Headache Above The Left Ear?

I have a throbbing like pain directly above my left ear on the top of my head that comes and goes. Have noticed it for the last 4 days. Not a headache but similar to a hangover headache when you move only it is localized to the laft side above the ear

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the recurrent headache with pain above left ear indicates possible infection involving middle or external ear as otitis or else with referred pain presentation. My guidelines at present:
- Antibiotic drops for the ear application
- Cotton plug to avoid entry of cold air or water
- Systemic antibiotics as penicillin, cephalosporin or else as per the preference of your doc
- Anti inflammatory medicines with ibuprofen or diclofenac content

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
