Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Recurrent Hot And Cold Flashes And Loss Of Normal Consciousness?
My husband is under much stress. He has been having episodes which involve 1) a smell or scent 2) hot and cold feelings and 3) zoning out. We have had a full cardiac and neurological workup and both said he is stressed. Today he has had about 5 episodes and I m beginning to be very concerned.
I read your message and I understood your medical problem.
My first advice is that you try to do your best to help your husband fight his difficult times with stress. You both can go a see a psychiatrist or at least a psychologist and consult with them.
It is very important that you both discover the origin of this huge stress and help him fight it. Try to spend more time with him and show as much empathy as you can. Open talks and doing things you both like can help him to take over this situation.
Also, I think that a consultation with a psychiatrist is of need.
Furthermore, I need to know more about your husband's general health. Changes in smelling, in body response to temperatures and loss of orientation or judgement, are signs of severe depression which need special attention.
See a specialist and take decisions to make sure that your husband will follow proper care.
Hope this is helpful.
