What Causes Recurrent Itchy Rash On The Body Despite Taking Bactrim?
I just finished taking a 10 day antibiotic of bactrim for an itchy rash turned open pus sore with drainage. Hot to the touch with inflamation. The antibiotics started the healing process but there is still an itchy rash in the initial site as well as it is spreading out to make new bumpy itchy rash sites. My prescription is done and I have the same symptoms of it starting all over again. What is it and what should I do?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of recurrent itchy rash on the body despite taking Bactrim can occur due to internal response of body to some allergen which could be anything.
I would suggest you to take antihistamine medications to suppress response such as benadryl. You should not prick these rashes and apply cold compresses on skin. If symptoms still persist the consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may perform skin test to find out the trigger factor. You should take anti inflammatory medications along with steroids that can suppress immune system. You should wear loose clothes to avoid friction and stay in cool environment.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
