What Causes Recurrent Nightmares Of Spiders Crawling On Skin?
yes I am having problems in my sleep I am dreaming that I see spiders and their crawling on me I've had these dreams pretty much my entire life and they've only gotten worser over the years just last night, I was sleep and I felt myself getting ready to scream and I screamed so loud that I woke everyone up and my aunt said that i burst through her door and said "Moosie was laying on a dead spider and it was crawling on me" that same night I had a dream that tarantula's were crawling I need to know what can I do to stop these terrors and how I can deal with them?
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. Recurrent nightmares can occur in an individual due to severe persistent anxiety. Night mares also aggravate the stress and anxiety. Night mares occurs in REM phase of sleep and excess REM sleep can be a trait marker for depression. In nightmares medicines like benzodiazepines can help to normalise sleep and will help in reducing the nightmares. But as these drugs are associated with high dependence and tolerance potential so should be used with proper prescription only. Medicines like Ramelteon, Melatonin can also help in night mares. These medicines will help in normalising the sleep rhythm and will help in good refreshing sleep. Please consult a psychiatric for proper prescription of these medicines.
