i get repeated pain near the lower most rib on the right side. Ultrasound of abdomen has not revealed any abnormality. it is normal. CT of chest has revea;ed a small nodule in the left lung. could that be a reason for pain near the rib ? I am male aged 58 years with no habits to drink or smoke

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The nodule of the left lung will not be responsible for the right rib pain.

There can be costochondritis or other issues of the rib cage which may not be visible all the time over the CT thorax.

A clinical evaluation would matter most with the history co-relation to find out the underlying possible issue and further care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
