Have 20 year old CABG with 5 stents now. Have history of atypical chest pain that comes & goes with no nitro management necessary. Pain duration has increased, but a Nuclear Stress Test just completed, shows normal and cardiologist feels pain is not heart related. Have periodic sudden shortness of breath that resolves quickly. Pain and breath comes while both resting or exercise. Primary Dr tried me on anxiety med with no change. Nitro usually resolves pain within minutes. But, usually resolves itself. Ideas?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You should report the recurrent pain in your chest to a cardiac specialist so that you can be examined & evaluated efficiently. The pain can be due to some infection or spasm in the coronary artery for the chest pain that you are experiencing is indicative of coronary vasoreactivity. Get a re-check up done before symptoms complicate, your medications need to be monitored.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
