Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I m a 60 yr old woman experiencing pain in my left knee joint. It seems to come and go, but I work in long term care, and it seems to flare up more when I m working. I have been wrapping it with an ace bandage, icing it and been taking acetaminophen. I m wondering at what point I should go to a MD. I can t afford to be pff work, so I m afraid of what a MD might find.
I suggest you go for an X-ray knee AP and lateral view first so that we can rule out the cause of pain. Meanwhile, you can use Voveran ointment locally over the painful area of your knee and can continue taking the medication. You can upload your X-ray once it's done so that we can do the further management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Naira Jahangir, OB and GYN Specialist
