What Causes Recurrent Pain In The Ribs?

I m a 59 year old female with a bothersome recurring pain on my right side. far to the right, in between my front and back, seemingly at the bottom of my rib cage. What could this be coming from? It s been going on for 2 to 3 weeks but is not chronic. seems to come and go

I can understand your concern.
Possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more likely in your case. But we should definitely rule out lung related diseases (pleural effusion, pneumonia) first.
So get done chest x ray.
If chest x ray is normal then no need to worry much.
For musculoskeletal pain follow these steps for better symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise.
2. Apply warm water pad on affected areas.
3. Take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs.
4. Avoid sudden jerky movements.
Don't worry, he will be alright with all these.
