Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Dr. My husband keeps getting pus sacks on the back of his throat. This is the 3rd time he has had them this year. He just finished a round of Amoxicillin 1 tab 2x daily for 10 days and was rid of them for about 5 days after use, but now they are coming back. I have been making him gargle with hydrogen peroxide to try to make them go away. He is in so much pain! Any other thoughts/suggestions?
* As per my clinical experience, the recurrent pus sacks behind throat indicate most possible acute strep throat infection.
Suggestions for better recovery over and above the hydrogen peroxide gargles
- prefer more liquids in terms of boiled water, lemon juice, coconut water
- use easily chewable and swallowable food stuffs
- avoid all commercial beverages, junk food, dairy fat
- prescription of oral antibiotics as penicillin, azithromycin, cephalosporin or others as per the clinician decision
- turmeric powder in skimmed milk and tulsi help great via their ayurvedic healing properties.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
