What Causes Recurrent Rectal Pain Despite Discontinuing Pantoprazole?

I spent a few months earlier this year taking a variety of meds for pulmonary issues which are now diagnosed as asthma. The pantoprozole seemed to make my rectum hurt. I have used Anucort which took care of the problem and I am off the panto. Occasionally, now I seem to have a flair up with rectal pain. What makes it come back? My Dr. said my colonoscopy shows some mild internal hemoroids.

Thank you for asking on HealthcareMagic.com, providing better healthcare for you. I have gone through your case and I can understand your concern. Based on your colonoscopy you have hemorrhoids (piles) which are swollen and inflamed veins in your anus and lower rectum. The rectal pain is due to hemorrhoids, that in your colonoscopy are mild.In rare cases, Pantoprazole causes constipation, that may provoke for hemorrhoids. some general measures will be very helpful in your case:
A. Avoid heavy lifting.
B. Try to prevent constipation or straining.
C. Eat a high-fiber diet.
D. D rink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day.
E. Lose weight if you’re overweight.
F. Exercise regularly.
G. Spend less time sitting on the toilet to reduce pressure in the veins around the anus.
H. Pat with toilet paper instead of rubbing.
I. Take sitz baths or soak in a warm bathtub three or four times a day for comfort.

Also to treat hemorrhoids I would recommend:
1. Apply cold packs or witch hazel (Tucks) compresses for symptom relief.
2. Take a stool softener two to three times a day to prevent straining with bowel movements.
