What Causes Recurrent Rupture Of Ovarian Cysts?

Hi I ve had 7 ovarian cysts ruptures this year mostly once every month been to the hospital countless of times. I ve had surgery before to remove 2 cuts two years ago. They gave me birth control monitoring of the cysts and the last option was surgery. Last week I went to the ER again and they told me its best to have my right ovary removed. I was wondering if I can have a doctor talk to me about the procedure.

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, recurrent ovarian cysts rupture although on birth control pills are sometimes life-threatening. You should definitely get your right ovary removed to avoid this problem. It's a major surgery but done laparoscopically.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
