What Causes Recurrent Spots Around Abdomen And Lower Back?

About 6 weeks ago I noticed red spots forming mostly around my beltline or waist. I have been to the Drs 3 times and they do not seem to know what is causing the spots. They are not raised nor do they itch. ^ weeks now and they are on my back, abdomen and arms and are multiplying. 14 days ago The dermatologist took a lab culture from a spot on my lower back and I still have not heard from him even though I have several calls in to him. So much for 7 to 10 days. Got any ideas. Someone said lymphoma ???

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of recurrent spots around abdomen and lower back. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like dermatitis, bug bite, eczema, systemic pathology, allergic reaction and side effects of drug.

Need not to worry. You should avoid touching or pricking rashes and chances of lipoma are less as it is due to deposit of fat tissues. I would suggest you to drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated , keep yourself away from the allergens like dust , dog and cat fur and continue taking antihistamine like zyrtec or benadryl . If condition doesn't get better the consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may order blood test , allergy test and physical examination. Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with corticosteroid ointment or antibiotics like clindamycin .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
