What Causes Recurrent Swollen Lymph Nodes In Groin Causing Severe Pain?

I have had swollen lymph nodes in my groin off and on for several years. I have one now that is extremely painful and bigger than anything previous. The swollen area is about 4 to 5 inches long and 2 inches wide and firm. I ve had it for about 5 days now. It s gotten really read around the center of it. My health insurance doesn t kick in until the 1st. Am I okay to wait until then to seek treatment?

Hi,
It seems that you might be having acute lnguinal lymphadenitis giving this problem.
It indicates that there might be having some infection in surrounding area.
At present you might require one course of antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicine for 5 days.
Consult your doctor and get examined.
Ok and take care.
