What Causes Recurrent Symptoms Of AFib?

I have been having AFib symtoms all day. Some have been more severe than others. I don t usually have symptoms that frequently. I have been on medication for 6 months & blood thinners for one month but the Afib is becoming worse. I have an appointment with my cardiologist Tuesday but am not sure if I should wait that long. Do I need to go to the ER now?

Hello,

Afib is often a chronic issue. It may have different causes such as valve disease, coronary artery disease, congenital heart defects, hypertension, lung conditions, stimulants etc, hard to say much without knowing what tests you've done.

If you have increasing symptoms I do think you should go to the ER, your therapy may need some modifications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olsi Taka, Neurologist
