What Causes Recurrent Upper Abdominal Pain After Treating Pneumonia?
MY 19 year old daughter had a muscle strain on her left upper abdomen from coughing. she had pneumonia late February this year. chest xray was clear two weeks later. pain went away by the end of march. nurse practioner said pain was not in the area of her spleen. now the pain is back. sharp pain
There can be possible cause of left upper abdomen pain as: - Residual lung infection with congestion (which may not be detectable on X-ray chest) - Spleen enlargement or congestion through previous bacterial infection.
She requires a consultation for evaluation of breath sounds of lungs and ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis as per the need.
